The AS57 is a traditional vintage alnico single coil with crystal sparkling highs, warm mids and a well defined low end. Traditional materials are used with AlNiCo V pole pieces, fibre board bobbin and enamel coated winding wire which is scatter-wound direct to the core. This attention to materials and construction detail ensures authentic vintage tone. The middle pickup (AS57RW) is reverse wound so that hum is cancelled when used in combination with either the neck or bridge pickups. FREE Shipping in Australia!

Before you buy

These are raw, unfinished kits from a production factory, not flat-pack furniture. Expect to sand, fill and finish your instrument yourself, and expect the occasional scratch, dent or glue spot to deal with along the way. That is the craft, and it is why the result is worth playing.

Do a mock build before you sand or paint anything. We cannot accept returns on kits that have been part-assembled, painted or stained.

New to building? Start with an ST or TL kit, where much of the wiring is already done at the factory. We would not recommend a hollow body for a first build.
