ST-1JR 3/4 Size DIY Electric Guitar Kit (Left-handed)

ST-1JR 3/4 Size DIY Electric Guitar Kit (Left-handed)

SKU:ST-1JR-L

A great Guitar Kit to build with your left-handed son or daughter, if their hands are too small for a full scale guitar This ST-1JR-L is 3/4 the size of a standard ST-1L, perfect size for the budding guitar player who can't quite handle a full size electric guitar. Features a Basswood body, Maple neck with Rosewood Fretboard (22.5" or 572mm scale length), quality chrome hardware, strings and lead. It has a single coil in the neck position and a humbucker in the bridge. Note, hardware is available to upgrade to black or gold, but the loaded pick-guard will be white with white pickup covers only. I don't (yet) have the pickguard available in black. All you need is some quality build time with your youngster, some paint and basic tools, and an amplifier to plug it in when you've finished.

This kit contains everything you need to build a complete, playable guitar, except your choice of finish.

Before you buy

These are raw, unfinished kits from a production factory, not flat-pack furniture. Expect to sand, fill and finish your instrument yourself, and expect the occasional scratch, dent or glue spot to deal with along the way. That is the craft, and it is why the result is worth playing.

Do a mock build before you sand or paint anything. We cannot accept returns on kits that have been part-assembled, painted or stained.

New to building? Start with an ST or TL kit, where much of the wiring is already done at the factory. We would not recommend a hollow body for a first build.

Build support

You are not on your own once the box arrives. Every kit is backed by our complete instruction manual, a quick start guide, wiring diagrams for more than fifty different kits, and step-by-step videos covering finishing, soldering, hardware, assembly and setup.
