Perfect for Blues and Jazz, this new set offers players touch-sensitive and sweet clean tones, without boomy bass notes or harsh trebles. Adding some overdrive reveals the smooth musicality and sustain that Alnico II offers. Scatterwound with single gauge AWG 42 wire. The mid pickup is reverse wound for hum-cancelling operation in positions 2 and 4, and the set features a calibrated wind for better volume balance across all 5 positions. These are raw, unfinished kits from a production factory, not flat-pack furniture. Expect to sand, fill and finish your instrument yourself, and expect the occasional scratch, dent or glue spot to deal with along the way. That is the craft, and it is why the result is worth playing.
Do a mock build before you sand or paint anything. We cannot accept returns on kits that have been part-assembled, painted or stained.
New to building? Start with an ST or TL kit, where much of the wiring is already done at the factory. We would not recommend a hollow body for a first build.
